Welcome to The OC Gourd Experience

Our Mission Statement

Our Mission as a Patch of the CA Gourd Society is to promote the horticulture, crafting, and appreciation of hard shelled gourds (Lagenaria) by providing charitable and educational activities to members of the society, growers, artists, crafters, business people and the public through community support and education.

OCGS Shutterfly Site

We meet the 3rd Saturday of each month (except November & December) in Costa Mesa (Harbor Blvd. & Baker) from 10 - 4. Raw gourds are available for purchase at all our meetings stop by a take a look. Contact Norrah Andersen for meeting address and class details. Phone 714-641-8124 or email: Createit@att.net Note: In appreciation for our meeting facility, we "pass the gourd" for a suggested $5 donation which is provided to the hosting member.

February 20, 2010 - Theme - OCGS Gourd Show – Combined Meeting & Play Day 10am-4pm  (bring a snack to share) – bring your gourds to share ideas & techniques for upcoming play days.

OCGS's Fun Summer Gig At the OC Fair

OCGS was at the OC Fair July 10th - 19th we were set up in the Centennial Farm area. As you can see visitors enjoyed our booth we had demonstrations, gourd art and crafts, along with a large selection of raw gourds, seeds for sale and information on our activities. Stop by our booth at the OC Fair!OCGS Birdhouse Project

OCGS provides wonderful homes for our feathered friends! Thanks go to Bill Duncan for getting this project off the ground so quickly he has provided all the gourds ready for our members to decorate. Check back as more will be completed in the coming days. These and others are available for purchase check our calendar to see where you can get yours or you can arrange for pick up in Costa Mesa at any of our meetings or play days!
