Agave sp. Flower Stalk

August 26 – September 2003

This agave sp.  has been in the ground about 6 six years now, and were we surprised when the flower stalk appeared we first noticed it on August 26, 2003.  There is a good chance that after flowering is complete (several months) the parent plant will die.  I don’t think we will be replanting in the same location, as you can see it gets pretty large.  We will contiue to enjoy watching this agave complete it’s life cycle. We know that before it dies it will be leaving many new agaves behind.
